Required fields and validation

Click any field in the builder to open its settings. Toggle Required to stop the form being submitted without an answer.

Automatic format checks

• Email fields must contain a valid email address.
• Phone fields accept digits, spaces, +, - and brackets, and check a sensible length.
• Number fields reject letters.
• URL fields must be a valid web address.

Validation runs in the browser as people type, and again on our servers when the form is submitted — so bad data can't get through even if someone bypasses the page.

Help text

Add a description under any field label to explain what you want. A one-line example — 'Format: 10 digits, no country code' — usually removes the need for validation errors at all.
